Women claiming compensation following bus fall

A woman who suffered serious injuries to her pelvis after falling over on a bus is planning to submit a claim for accident compensation.

Lesley Hunter had climbed aboard the number one bus in Kempston with her ten-year-old daughter when the accident happened in early November this year.

Ms Hunter’s daughter had climbed the bus steps in order to sit on the top deck, and she was following behind when the bus driver ‘suddenly pulled away’ from the bus stop.

As a result of the movement, Ms Hunter fell and injured herself. She told local news source Bedforshire on Sunday that she awoke the day after the accident ‘in agony,’ and was forced to seek medical attention.

She was diagnosed by medical staff as having a fractured pelvis and was put on crutches.

Ms Hunter, 45, will have to spend up to 11 weeks on crutches before she is fully recovered, according to medical staff.

She is now seeking accident compensation as a result of the incident and is appealing for witnesses who saw the accident take place to come forward to aid in her case against the bus company.
